Paige Colburn has worked in various roles within the environmental field since 2011. Paige began their career as a Student Cook at the University of Northern Colorado dining services, where they worked from August 2011 to July 2013. In 2013, they became an Office Assistant at Western State Colorado University, where they also took on the role of Biological Science Technician from May 2014 to July 2015. During this time, they gained experience in bird species identification, mist-net capture and banding, data collection using GPS, plant identification, tree density determination, and fire modeling.
In 2015, Colburn worked as an Alligator Capture Volunteer at Colorado Gators Reptile Park for a brief period. Paige then transitioned to being an Adventure Guide at Crested Butte Mountain Resort from June 2013 to January 2016.
Colburn's professional experience continued with roles at various organizations. Paige served as a Biological Science Technician at the National Park Service from May 2016 to November 2016. Paige also had an internship as a California Condor Intern at VENTANA WILDLIFE SOCIETY from October 2017 to April 2018. Paige then worked as a Conservation and Land Management Intern at the Bureau of Land Management from February 2017 to September 2018.
After that, Colburn joined Smith Environmental and Engineering as an Environmental Scientist from October 2018 to April 2019. Following this, they were a Data Specialist at American Conservation Experience from May 2019 to December 2019. Currently, they are employed as a Staff Biologist at SWCA Environmental Consultants, starting in January 2020.
Paige Colburn began their education in 2011 at the University of Northern Colorado, where they studied Environmental Biology for two years. Paige then transferred to Western Colorado University in 2013, and completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology in 2016.
