Senior Biologist at SWCA

Sara Snyder has a diverse work experience in the field of biology and environmental consulting. Sara started their career at the Wolf Education & Research Center, where they served as a Wolf Handler and Interpretive Guide, responsible for monitoring the health and behavior of captive gray wolves and leading educational tours.

Sara then worked as a Temporary Resource Analyst at the East Bay Regional Park District, focusing on bird conservation projects. Sara collaborated with Point Blue (PRBO) to set up breeding bird surveys and monitored populations of golden eagles and prairie falcons.

At the SAN FRANCISCO BAY BIRD OBSERVATORY, Sara worked as a Wildlife Biologist, studying the nesting behaviors of California Gulls and Forester terns in the South San Francisco Bay. Sara also participated in a bioaccumulation study by capturing chicks and collecting blood and feathers.

Sara joined H. T. Harvey & Associates as a Wildlife Ecologist, overseeing and conducting avian carcass removal trials as part of the Avian and Bat Protection Plan at California Valley Solar Ranch. Sara also conducted avian and bat fatality monitoring and implemented nest protection in active construction areas.

Sara then worked at AECOM as both a Project Biologist and a Wildlife Biologist. In these roles, they contributed to various projects and conducted fieldwork related to wildlife conservation.

Sara's most recent position is as a Senior Biologist at SWCA Environmental Consultants, where they are currently employed. Additional details about this role are not provided.

Sara Snyder completed their education in a chronological manner. Sara started their academic journey in 2001 and graduated in 2005 from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Marine Biology. In 2004, they studied abroad at James Cook University, focusing on Marine and Tropical Biology. Later, from 2009 to 2014, Sara pursued their Master of Science (MS) degree in Biology at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
