Sean Peacock has a diverse range of work experience in the environmental field. Sean started their career as an Analyst 1 Metals at TestAmerica in 2014. In 2015, they worked as an Account Coordinator at OTR Capital and later as an Environmental Educator/Naturalist at Dunwoody Nature Center.
From 2016 to 2019, Sean worked at various organizations, including St. Catherines Island as an Animal Keeper, UGA Costa Rica as a Resident Naturalist, and the University of Georgia as a Gopher Tortoise Technician.
In 2017, they joined the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division as both a Shorebird Technician and an Inland Bird and Habitat Management Technician. Sean also spent some time in 2018 as a Shorebird Biologist at Audubon Florida.
Sean's most recent position was at Cardno, where they worked as a Senior Staff Scientist from June 2019 to December 2022. Sean is currently employed as an Assistant Project Manager at SWCA Environmental Consultants, starting in April 2022.
Overall, Sean has gained valuable experience in environmental research, wildlife conservation, and project management throughout their career.
Sean Peacock attended Georgia College & State University from 2009 to 2014, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science. In terms of additional certifications, Sean obtained the Tennessee Qualified Hydrologic Professional certification from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation in August 2021. In August 2019, they earned the Marine Mammal Observer/Protected Species Observer certification from RPS. Additionally, in August 2018, Sean received the Erosion and Sediment Control: Certified Personnel, Level 1A Urban Lands certification from the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission. Sean is currently pursuing the Advanced Training for Environmental Educators certification.
