Marc Horton

Program Director, General Surgery Residency at Swedish Medical Center

Marc Horton, MD FACS has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Marc is currently the Executive Medical Director of Surgical Services Division and Surgical Chair at Swedish Health Services since December 2018. Prior to this role, they held various positions at Swedish Medical Center, including Program Director of General Surgery Residency, Vice President of Perioperative Services, Medical Director of Surgery, and Associate Program Director of General Surgery Residency. Dr. Horton also worked as an Attending General Surgeon at Swedish Surgical Specialists and served as the Executive Director of Advanced Surgical Services at Swedish Health Services. Furthermore, they are a Member of the Board of Governors at the American College of Surgeons since October 2017.

Marc Horton, MD FACS received their BA in Biology from Carroll College in 1980. Marc then attended the University of Washington - School of Medicine, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 1987. Following this, they completed a General Surgery Internship at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in 1988. From 1988 to 1993, they pursued their General Surgery Residency at Swedish Medical Center. Later in 2009, they attended the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business, completing the Executive Development Program in 2010.
