Maja Vahlberg

Maja Vahlberg is a Climate Risk Consultant at the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre, focusing on reducing climate change impacts for vulnerable populations. With a rich background in disaster management and sustainability, Maja serves as Vice President of the Swedish Red Cross’s Regional Council Mitt and has been an active member of various working groups addressing climate and sustainability issues. Experience includes leading climate vulnerability research, monitoring extreme weather events, authoring guidance notes for anticipatory action, and enhancing local chapter sustainability efforts. Maja holds a Master's degree in International Humanitarian Action and a Master's in Disaster Risk Management and Climate Governance, complemented by a Bachelor's in Sociology with minors in Gender and Geography.
