Alan Duffy

Alan Duffy serves as the Pro Vice Chancellor for Flagship Initiatives at Swinburne University of Technology, where responsibilities include facilitating transdisciplinary research and collaboration with external organizations. As a Professor of Astrophysics, Alan leads research on Dark Matter using both underground experiments and supercomputer simulations. Additionally, Alan is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of mDetect, a company specializing in muon technology for subsurface exploration. Alan has held various academic positions, including Director of the Space Technology and Industry Institute, Lead Scientist at Australia's Science Channel, and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne. Alan's education includes a PhD in Astronomy and an MPhys in Physics from the University of Manchester.
