Sue Li has a diverse work experience ranging from 2008 to the present. Sue began their career as a Web and Graphic Designer at the Fuqua School of Business in 2008. In 2010, they became a Middle School Teacher at Teach for America, where they taught 6th grade courses in English, Reading, and Social Studies, as well as 8th grade Leadership course. Sue also led the school's Gifted and Talented Program and developed media production curriculum for students. In 2012, they were an English and Photography Teacher at Beijing Royal School. In 2013, they were a Digital Production Intern at WGBH. In 2014, they were an Instructional Designer at CareerFoundry, and also an Education Technology Consultant at KIPP Foundation. In 2016, they were an Interaction Designer at Poki and a Product Owner at Albelli. Finally, in 2019, they became a CTO at SwipeGuide, where they were responsible for growing the team and scaling the business, improving development processes and agile workflow, and building a product that disrupted how workers learn in the manufacturing industry.
Sue Li attended Duke University from 2006 to 2010, and then Harvard Graduate School of Education from 2013 to 2014, where they earned a Master of Education in Technology, Innovation, and Education. In 2019, they attended Codeworks to study Computer Software Engineering.
