Alex Gertschen

Alex Gertschen has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Currently, they serve as the Head of Corporate Communication and Outreach at SQS - Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems. Prior to this, they worked as a Lecturer at the University of St. Gallen and the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons. Alex also has experience as an Independent Consultant and an Associated Researcher at the University of Bern and Philipps-Universität Marburg respectively. Additionally, Alex has worked as a Senior Editor at htr hotel revue and served as a Foreign Correspondent at Neue Zürcher Zeitung. Alex began their career as a Scientific Assistant at the University of Fribourg.

Alex Gertschen has an extensive education history in various institutions. In 2000, they enrolled at Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg, where they pursued a Licentiate degree in History, Economics, and Media & Communication Sciences. Alex completed their studies in 2006.

During their time at Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg, Alex also participated in exchange programs. In 2002-2003, they studied as an exchange student at Université Paris-Sorbonne, focusing on History, Economics, and Sociology. In 2004, they attended Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin as an exchange student, specializing in History and Economics.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Alex Gertschen continued their academic journey at The Philipp University of Marburg. Starting from 2008, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in History and successfully completed it in 2012.
