Charles Newton

Charles Newton has a diverse and impressive work experience. Charles began their career in 2016 as the Founder and Chair of the Loughborough Space Society, a role they still hold today. In 2017, they worked as a Materials & Structures Engineer Intern at Reaction Engines Ltd. In 2018, they worked as a Consultant for Rolls-Royce, and in 2019 they worked as an Operations Consultant for Twinings, Gill Instruments Limited, Sorex Sensors, and the High Value Manufacturing Catapult. Charles also worked as a Machine Learning Specialist for Geocento in 2018. Most recently, they have been the Chief Manufacturing Officer at Swytch Bike since 2019, where they are responsible for leading the Manufacturing, Operations and Systems Development teams. Charles has also been the Head of Manufacturing and Logistics at Swytch since 2019, and the Director of Manufacturing since 2019.

Charles Newton completed a Master of Philosophy, MPhil in ISMM (Industrial Systems, Manufacture & Management) at the University of Cambridge from 2018 to 2019. In 2021, they completed a Leadership Principles course at Harvard Business School Online in Business Administration and Management, General. Prior to this, Charles Newton completed a Masters (MEng) with DIS in Mechanical Engineering at Loughborough University from 2013 to 2018. In 2011 and 2012, they completed a YASS Short Course in ST174 Inside Nuclear Energy at The Open University.
