Associate Director - Concerts & Programming at Sydney Symphony Orchestra

Sam Torrens is a seasoned professional in the classical music sector, currently serving as Associate Director - Concerts & Programming at the Sydney Symphony Orchestra since October 2017. In parallel, Sam has held the position of Festival Manager at the Mackay Chamber Music Festival since September 2018. Prior experience includes serving as Artistic Administrator at the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and as Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Musician Project. Sam's early career included a role as Orchestral Operations Coordinator for the Australian Youth Orchestra, where responsibilities included planning activities and managing production logistics. Sam holds a Graduate Diploma and a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance from the University of Sydney, as well as a Bachelor of Music from The Australian National University.
