Team Lead: Upfront Compliance at Sygnia Asset Management

Mandy Christians-Gaffoor has extensive experience in compliance and law. Mandy currently works at Sygnia Asset Management as the Team Lead for Upfront Compliance, where they manage the operational aspects of the team and provides support and coaching to the consultants. Prior to this, they were a Technical Specialist for AML/FATCA/CRS Compliance at Old Mutual Limited.

Mandy Christians-Gaffoor began their education in 1991 at the University of the Western Cape where they pursued a Higher Diploma in Education, which they completed in 1995. Following that, in 2006, they earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the same university.

In 2011, Mandy pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Governance at the University of the Western Cape, which they completed in 2012. Mandy then went on to a Master of Laws (LLM) program in Constitutional Litigation at the same university, which they completed from 2013 to 2015.

During this time, in 2013, Mandy also underwent Admission as an Attorney of the High Court at the Cape High Court, focusing on International Law and Legal Studies. Mandy repeated this process at the Cape High Court in 2013.

In 2016, Mandy obtained the FAIS RE1 qualification from the Financial Services Board, specializing in Finance and Financial Management Services. Mandy followed this with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Deceased Estates from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika in 2017.

Most recently, Mandy pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Risk Management NQF Level 08 with a focus on Risk and Compliance at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika. Their enrollment began in 2020 and is projected to conclude in 2033.
