Advanced Industrial Control Engineer at Symbotic

Luisney OFarrill has extensive experience in automation controls engineering. Luisney began their career as an Automation Engineer at CEDAI, where they installed low tension electric distribution systems and implemented supervisory control systems for hotel rooms. Luisney then interned as a Jr. Automation Controls Engineer at ITG Technologies, troubleshooting welding machines and providing troubleshooting services at water treatment plants and glass container facilities. Luisney later joined Hans-Mill Corp as a Jr. Automation Controls Engineer, where they worked on the commissioning of a production line in the material handling/conveyors industry, utilizing pneumatic, hydraulic systems, and sequential programming of ABB robots. At ITG Technologies, Luisney continued their automation controls work as a Jr. Automation Controls Engineer, designing safety-related control systems and developing automation applications using various technologies such as ROCKWELL FactoryTalk View and RSLogix 500/5000. Subsequently, at Bacardi, Luisney served as a Process Automation and Control Technologist, programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs, as well as providing daily maintenance for electrical systems and electronic components of automated bottling machinery. Most recently, Luisney joined Symbotic as an Advanced Industrial Control Engineer, utilizing their expertise to contribute to the integration of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and other control systems.

Luisney OFarrill attended Universidad Central "Marta Abreu" de Las Villas from 2005 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a specialization in Automation Engineering. In July 2022, they obtained a certification as Ignition 8.1 Certified from Inductive Automation.
