Robert Massey

Robert Massey is an accomplished executive in the arts sector, currently serving as the CEO and Executive Artistic Director at Symphony San Jose since June 2022. Previously, Robert held the position of General Director at the Opera Festival of Chicago from 2019 to 2023. Robert's extensive experience includes serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Jacksonville Symphony from 2014 to 2019, and as Chief Executive Officer of Orchestra Iowa from 2008 to 2015. Additionally, Robert was the Executive Director of the Washington Bach Consort from 2005 to 2008. Robert's educational background includes a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music, a Graduate Diploma in Arts Administration and Trumpet Performance from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse, and ongoing studies at Harvard Business School Executive Education for an Executive Certificate.
