Joel Gabiola

Joel Gabiola has a diverse work experience in UX and design. Currently, they serve as the Staff UX Strategy Lead at symplr since September 2022. Previously at symplr, they held the position of Staff UX Designer from January 2022 to September 2022, and before that, they worked as a User Experience Designer from January 2021 to January 2022.

Prior to their time at symplr, Joel worked as a User Experience Designer at TractManager, Inc. from September 2020 to January 2021.

Joel's longest tenure was at SnapStream, where they worked from July 2003 to May 2020. During their time there, they held various roles including User Experience Designer from January 2014 to May 2020, Creative Marketing Director from July 2007 to January 2014, and Graphic Designer from July 2003 to July 2007.

Before joining SnapStream, Joel worked as a Graphic Designer at Minor Design from September 2001 to January 2003.

Joel also gained experience as a Design Intern at Origin Design from May 2000 to August 2000.

Joel Gabiola, UXMC, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Communications from the University of Houston, which they obtained from 1995 to 2001. Prior to that, they attended Hastings High School from 1991 to 1995. In addition to their formal education, Joel has obtained several certifications in the field of user experience design, including the UX Master Certification from Nielsen Norman Group in 2020, and various other certifications in accessibility, UI/UX design, market research, and consumer behavior from reputable institutions such as Udemy, Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF), and California Institute of the Arts.
