Akshay Kharbanda

Akshay Kharbanda is an experienced marine engineer specializing in bulk carriers. Currently serving as First Assistant Engineer at Synergy Marine Group since February 2020, Akshay oversees the engine room and manages operations on a vessel equipped with an Electronic Fuel control ME engine. Prior experience includes roles at Anglo-Eastern as First Assistant Engineer and Second Assistant Engineer, where responsibilities involved working on foreign-going bulk carriers and Capesize bulk carriers, leading to a promotion in December 2018. Akshay's early career included positions at United Ocean Ship Management Private Limited and Seaarland Shipping Management B.V., starting as a Junior Engineer and progressing to Third Assistant Engineer. Akshay holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Maharashtra Institute of Technology, completed in 2009.
