Dieter Hamprecht

Dieter Hamprecht has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several companies. Dieter began their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Imperial College for Science, Technology and Medicine, where they focused on organic synthesis of natural products and analogues. From there, they joined SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals / Neurology CEDD, GSK, where they served as a Team Leader, Investigator, and Senior Investigator.

Hamprecht then moved on to GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, where they held the position of Research Leader in the Psychiatry/Neurosciences Center of Excellence in Drug Discovery. During their time there, they led and assisted in drug discovery programs and was responsible for managing reports and external collaborators.

In 2009, Hamprecht joined Boehringer Ingelheim Research Italy S.a.s. di BI IT S.r.l. as Managing Director. In this role, they oversaw the legal entity and managed a team of up to 39 employees in various chemistry departments. Dieter was accountable for the budget, compliance, and overall productivity of the research unit.

Hamprecht later joined Pharmaxis Ltd as Head of Chemistry, a position they held until 2024. Dieter played a crucial role in leading the chemistry department and contributing to the company's success.

Currently, Hamprecht is the Head of Chemistry at Syntara, where they are responsible for leading the chemistry team and driving innovation in the company.

Dieter Hamprecht earned their Ph.D. (Dr. rer. nat.) in Chemistry from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, completing their studies from 1992 to 1995.
