Maria Victoria Maliandi Castro, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of biotechnology and research. Maria Victoria is currently employed at Theriva Biologics, Inc. as an R&D Scientist, where they are responsible for designing and executing experiments, analyzing results, and presenting them in reports. Prior to this, they worked as an R&D Scientist at VCN Biosciences- Grifols, focusing on the development of new therapeutic approaches for tumors. Maria Victoria also worked at Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Deu as a European Project Manager and Researcher, where they managed a European project and conducted research, including analyzing scientific literature and writing articles. Other positions they held include an Internship in R&D Management at Intelligent Pharma and Investigadora Postdoctoral roles at IDIBAPS and CRG Centro de regulacion genomica. Maria Victoria also has teaching experience as a Profesora and Auxiliar at several educational institutions. One of their notable research projects involved studying the combined treatment of oncolytic adenoviruses with chemotherapeutic agents for pancreatic cancer at IDIBAPS.

Maria Victoria Maliandi Castro, PhD, has an extensive education history in the fields of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biotechnology. Maria Victoria obtained their Bachelor of Sciences in Chemistry from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata in Argentina in 2002. In 2003, they completed their Bachelor of Sciences in Biochemistry from the same institution. Maria Victoria then pursued a Doctorate in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the Universidad de General San Martin, Argentina, accredited by the Universidad de Barcelona, from 2004 to 2009. Following their doctorate, they furthered their education with a Postgraduate degree in R&D Management from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2013 and 2014. Finally, in 2018, they completed a Postgraduate degree in Pharmaceutical Quality from the Universitat de Barcelona.
