Rino Oguchi started their work experience in 2013 as an Instructor at Mathnasium - The Math Learning Center, where they taught basic mathematics and assisted with administrative tasks. In 2016, they interned at the Consortium of Universities for Global Health, where their responsibilities included administration, research, and writing. They also designed online surveys and collected data for marketing purposes. In the same year, Rino served as a Student Ambassador at UC Davis Washington Program, giving presentations and answering students' questions about the program. From 2015 to 2017, Rino worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in Dr. David Rizzo's Lab at UC Davis, focusing on the disease agent of Sudden Oak Death. They then joined UC Davis Department of Plant Pathology, Swett Lab as a Junior Specialist from 2017 to 2019. In 2019, they became a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Santa Cruz, conducting research on the molecular mechanisms of Vibrio cholerae biofilm. Currently, Rino is a Senior Research Associate at Viridos, starting in September 2021.
Rino Oguchi completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Global Disease Biology at the University of California, Davis from 2013 to 2017. Following this, between 2019 and 2021, they obtained a Master's degree in Microbiology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Before attending university, Rino Oguchi attended the San Francisco Japanese School from 2010 to 2012, although no degree or field of study information was provided for this period.
