Eric Liao

Eric Liao has a strong background in software engineering and game development. Eric is currently working as the Director of Engineering at Syntiant Corp. starting in September 2022. Prior to that, Eric held the position of Director of Engineering at Pilot AI from July 2018 to October 2022. Eric also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Pilot AI from November 2016 to June 2018. Before Pilot AI, Eric worked at 3D Robotics as a Technical Lead from November 2015 to September 2016, and as a Senior Software Engineer from July 2014 to November 2015. Eric has experience in launching consumer drones and creating marketable features for them. Eric began their career at Sifteo as a Game Designer/Developer from July 2010 to June 2014, where they created and launched games on innovative hardware platforms. Eric also contributed to firmware and APIs. Eric's earlier work experience includes being a Senior Software Engineer at Blue Shift, Inc from September 2001 to July 2010, where they focused on game development and played a key role in porting games and developing rendering engines.

Eric Liao obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Stanford University, where they studied from 1997 to 2001.
