Brendan Wilson has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade in the gaming industry. Brendan co-founded and served as the CEO of System Era Softworks, where they built a small team of developers and was involved in executive, operational, and engineering duties. During their time at System Era Softworks, their debut title ASTRONEER achieved success on Steam and Xbox Game Preview.
Prior to their role at System Era Softworks, Brendan worked at Microsoft Studios - 343 Industries as a Senior Software Development Engineer. Brendan contributed to the development of Halo 5, where they focused on engine systems, optimizing load times, and implementing real-time data synchronization between platforms.
Before their time at Microsoft Studios, Brendan was a Game Programmer at TECMO KOEI CANADA, Inc. Brendan played a role in the development of several games, including Fatal Inertia and Warriors: Legends of Troy, using Unreal Engine 3 middleware.
Brendan began their career as an Engineer (student co-op) at ATI Technologies, where they developed test automation frameworks and tools for video hardware and multimedia drivers. Brendan specifically worked on performance analysis tools for hardware video decoding.
Brendan Wilson attended the University of Toronto from 2001 to 2006, where they completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (Honors) degree in Computer Engineering.
