Meghan Dowling

Meghan Dowling is a computational speech and language scientist at T-Pro, where efforts focus on developing AI solutions for enhancing healthcare efficiency and patient care while promoting linguistic diversity. Prior experience includes serving as an Irish language officer with Wikimedia Community Ireland and a substitute teacher for the Department of Education in Ireland. Meghan's research background encompasses a postdoctoral role in machine translation of medical texts and a PhD in computational linguistics, specializing in statistical and neural machine translation for the English-Irish language pair. Additional roles include lab tutoring at Dublin City University and participation in various research projects within the ADAPT Centre, aimed at improving machine translation resources for the Irish language. Educational qualifications include a PhD from Dublin City University, complemented by degrees in computer science and linguistics from Trinity College Dublin and the University of Glasgow.
