Gene J. has worked in various roles since 2013. Their first job was as an On-Screen Anchor, Writer, and Video Editor for OneMinuteNews, where they covered general science, health, and tech news. In 2014, they joined the Pride Center at the University of Tennessee as a Team Leader for the Public Relations Committee, where they managed media, photography, and social networking. In 2015, they worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Bruce Lab and an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant in Biology at the University of Tennessee. In 2017, they began working at TAC Insight as a Marketing Content Director, where they are responsible for customer communications and engagement, digital content and media specialist, promotions and events, web design, graphic design, and other duties. Additionally, they are an Assistant Editor at the International Journal of Nuclear Security, where they edit scientific manuscripts for publication and guides authors through the submission, revision, and publication process.
Gene J. began their education journey in 2011, when they attended Greenville Technical College and earned an Associate of Science (AS) in Biology, General. Gene then moved on to Pellissippi State Community College in 2013, where they earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) in Biology, General. Finally, in 2014, Gene J. began attending the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Technical Communications with a focus on Professional, Technical, Business, and Scientific Writing in 2018.
