Hal Schmitt

Hal Schmitt is an experienced aviation instructor and tactical systems analyst with a diverse background in military and civilian roles. Currently serving as an F-35 Contract Instructor Pilot at Lockheed Martin since January 2018, Schmitt also holds a position as a Senior Tactical Systems Analyst at Tactical Air Support, Inc. since November 2016. Schmitt operates Volatus Wine, a micro-boutique winery in Paso Robles, as Winemaker/Owner. Previous roles include Director and Lead Instructor at LIGHT Photographic Workshops, Instructor Pilot at ICON Aircraft, and Human Performance Consultant at Check-6, Inc. Schmitt has also held significant positions at TOPGUN, including Fleet Training Officer and TOPGUN Instructor, where contributions included the development of new training procedures and enhancements in instructional efficiency. A designated Naval Aviator, Schmitt earned a Bachelor of Arts in Russian from the University of Notre Dame.
