Richard Winsland

Richard Winsland has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Richard is currently working as the Chief Financial Officer at Tactus Group, a technology and e-commerce business. In this role, they are responsible for providing IT hardware to consumers, global retailers, and the public sector.

Prior to their current role, Richard held various positions at Axon Moore Group, a financial recruitment group. Richard started as a Finance Director in November 2015 and later became a Non-Executive Director in March 2021. At Axon Moore, they focused on recruiting finance professionals for a wide range of businesses, including private equity-backed businesses and public sector institutions.

In addition to their roles at Tactus Group and Axon Moore, Richard also served as a Non-Executive Director at YP Potential, a role which started in 2016.

Earlier in their career, Richard worked at PwC for several years, starting as a Senior Associate in 2008 and progressing to Assurance Manager and later Assurance Senior Manager. At PwC, they primarily worked on audit engagements for clients in industries such as insurance, manufacturing, retail, and financial services. Richard was also involved in identifying and targeting private businesses in the North West region as part of the Private Business team.

Richard also gained experience in mergers and acquisitions through a secondment at The Co-operative Group in 2013.

Before their time at PwC, Richard was involved in the development of the PwC Flying Start program and provided tutoring to graduate joiners.

Additionally, Richard has served as the North West Treasurer for Lord's Taverners, where they maintained financial control, managed event budgets, and promoted charitable activities in the region.

Richard's work experience also includes a role as a Committee Member at Creative pro.manchester, where they connected creative, legal, and professional sectors in Greater Manchester through events and conferences.

Richard Winsland's education history begins with their GCSE level studies at Corpus Christi Catholic High School from 1997 to 2002. Following this, they pursued A Level studies at Runshaw College from 2002 to 2004, focusing on Mathematics, Business Studies, Psychology, and Information and Communication Technology. In 2004, Richard enrolled at Newcastle University, where they completed their Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree in Business Accounting and Finance in 2008. Concurrently, they also attended the ICAEW from 2004 to 2009, obtaining their ACA degree.
