Lori Slaven currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of La Verne since August 2023 and has held the position of Superintendent for the Taft City School District since June 2022. Prior experience includes serving as Superintendent/Principal for the Hughes-Elizabeth Lakes Union School District from August 2016 to June 2022, and Principal at Merced City School District from January 2004 to July 2016, where additional roles included Learning Director and Early Reading First Coordinator. Lori Slaven has also contributed as an Adjunct Professor at Brandman University from 2010 to 2014 and co-owned Sullivan and Slaven Learning Systems SES Provider from January 2004 to August 2007. Earlier career experience includes serving as Vice President of Educational Services at The Literacy Connection from June 1997 to January 2004 and working as a Teacher in Madera Unified School District from August 1990 to July 1997. Educational qualifications include degrees from the University of La Verne and California State University, Fresno.
