Chris Toal

Chris Toal has a diverse work experience ranging from software engineering to web development, teaching English, and co-founding a clothing accessories company.

At Tails.com, Chris currently works as a Software Engineer since May 2019.

Prior to this, they worked as a Full Stack Developer at Bink from March 2018 to April 2019.

Before joining Bink, Chris was self-employed as a Freelance Web Developer, where they designed and developed a front-end responsive web app with features like trading dates and locations for personal calendars. Chris utilized Sketch for mock-ups and wireframes and implemented the MVC design pattern for better separation of concerns. This freelance role lasted from October 2017 to March 2018.

Chris also co-founded Yida Clothing Accessories (YCA) in 2014, where they served as a business and customer relations consultant. YCA achieved significant revenue of £175,154.00 in its first year. Chris was actively involved in this role until March 2018.

During their self-employed period from August 2013 to December 2016, Chris worked as a private English teacher, creating comprehensive English language courses tailored for various age groups and levels. Chris conducted around 80-100 bespoke classes per month and managed a busy teaching schedule through networking.

Before becoming self-employed, Chris worked at Hampson English Institute from September 2010 to August 2014 as a Teacher, where they achieved 'senior teacher' status. Chris specialized in IELTS and TOEFL preparation courses, business English, oral English, pronunciation, and phonetics.

From January 2011 to August 2012, Chris worked as an Oral English Teacher at Esay Telephone English, teaching business English to HSBC Guangzhou employees and preparing them for conference calls.

Chris Toal obtained a Diploma in Computer Software Engineering from Code Institute from 2016 to 2017. In addition, they have obtained various certifications including "Cybersecurity Awareness: Security Overview" from LinkedIn in January 2019, "Learning Java" from LinkedIn in November 2018, "Building Your First iOS App" from LinkedIn in October 2018, and a "Full Stack Diploma in Software Development" from Code Institute in December 2017.
