Vidyut Mohan has extensive work experience in the energy and sustainability sector. Vidyut started their career in 2011 as a Solar Radiation Estimator and Solar Site Surveyor at The Energy and Resources Institute. In 2012, they worked as a Service System Designer of Biogas Energy Services to Households and Businesses in Rural Karnataka at SELCO Foundation. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Student Assistant at Delft Global Initiative and a Fellow and Action Learning Facilitator at School For Social Entrepreneurs India. In 2016, they joined Simpa Networks as a Consultant, Senior User Experience Researcher, and User Experience Researcher. In 2017, they became an Unleash Energy Talent at UNLEASH - Innovation lab for SDGs. From 2018 to 2019, they were a Bio Energy Consultant at J-WAFS at MIT and Berkeley Lab. In 2019, they became an Echoing Green Fellow and is currently the Co-founder & CEO of Takachar.
Vidyut Mohan completed a Master's Degree in Sustainable Energy Technology and Sustainable Entrepreneurship from Delft University of Technology in 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering from RV College of Engineering in 2012. Vidyut also attended Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in New Delhi from 1995-2009, where they studied Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Economics. Additionally, they obtained a Madhyama Purna in music from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, which included 5 years of certified learning in the Tabla (Indian percussion instrument). In 2021, Vidyut Mohan obtained a Mastering Design Thinking certification from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
