Katie Sussen

Katie Sussen, CPA, MBA, has extensive experience in financial planning and analysis. Katie currently holds the position of VP of Financial Planning & Analysis at Talen Energy, starting in 2023. Before that, they worked at NRG Energy as a Senior Director of Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis, and as a Director of Retail Financial Planning and Analysis. Katie served as the Managing Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at both GenOn Energy and Dynegy. Katie'searlier roles include Manager of Marketing Financial Analytics at Basin Electric Power Cooperative, Supervisor of Merchant Generation Strategic Initiatives and Senior Merchant Generation Financial Analyst at Ameren, Senior Accountant and Senior Internal Auditor at Edward Jones, and Staff Accountant at J.W. Boyle. Katie began their career as a Graduate Assistant at Southern Illinois University.

Katie Sussen, CPA, MBA, obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Accounting from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 2003. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting from the same university in 2002. In 2007, they became a Certified Public Accountant through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
