Bob Walter

Bob is the Founder of Cardinal Health, Inc., a global healthcare services and products company, providing customized solutions for hospitals, health systems, pharmacies, ambulatory surgery centers, clinical laboratories and physician offices worldwide. Bob founded Cardinal Health at the age of 26, transforming and growing the company from its inception as a regional midwestern food wholesaler into a global, integrated healthcare services and products company. Through a combination of sustained internal growth and more than fifty separate merger and acquisition transactions, Cardinal grew to over $90 billion of revenue with over 50,000 employees in nearly 60 countries, ranking among the top 25 on the Fortune 500. Bob served as CEO and later as Executive Chairman until his retirement from Cardinal Health in 2008.

Bob has substantial experience in both private equity and publicly-traded companies. In addition to his extensive operational role with Cardinal Health and other private equity investments, Bob also serves as a Director and Non-Executive Chairman for YUM! Brands, and formerly served as a Director for each of American Express, Nordstrom, CBS, Viacom and Westinghouse.

Bob is an active participant with various local, national and global business, civic and charitable groups, including Battelle Memorial Institute (former member of the board of trustees), Ohio University (past chairman of the board of trustees), American Society of Corporate Executives and the Business Council.

Bob graduated with a BS in mechanical engineering from Ohio University in 1967, and received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1970.
