Seth Bigelow

Seth Bigelow is a seasoned ecologist with extensive research experience in silviculture and ecology, particularly focusing on longleaf pine ecosystems. Currently serving as a Senior Research Ecologist at Tall Timbers Research Station & Land Conservancy since May 2022, Seth previously held roles as a Researcher at Forest Adaptation Research and as an Assistant Scientist at Joseph W. Jones Ecological Research Center. An earlier position as a Research Ecologist for Forest Adaptation Research included independent forestry studies funded by grants. From 2002 to 2012, Seth worked for the US Forest Service, leading significant investigations into forest dynamics. A post-doctoral research associate at Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies contributed to expertise in soil and forest growth interactions. Academic credentials include a PhD and MS in Botany/Ecology from the University of Florida, alongside a B.A. in Biology and Botany from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
