Sadhbh O'Neill has a diverse range of experience in the medical and research field. Sadhbh started their career as a Summer Intern at the National Centre for Medical Genetics in 2011, followed by a Senior Sophister Project at the School of Genetics, Trinity College in 2011-2012. Sadhbh then worked as a Research Assistant at the School of Genetics and Microbiology, Trinity College Dublin from September 2012 to March 2013.

In 2013, Sadhbh joined Trinity College Dublin as a PhD Student, where they focused on identifying miRNA biomarkers in plasma samples from obese individuals with metabolic syndrome. This project was funded by the Danish Strategic Research Council and involved collaborations in Holland, Ireland, and Denmark. Sadhbh successfully identified a miRNA biomarker that was increased in patients with metabolic syndrome and further increased in obese individuals.

After completing their PhD, Sadhbh served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Trinity College Dublin from July 2016 to February 2017. Following that, they joined the National Children's Research Centre as a Clinical Research Coordinator from February 2017 to October 2018. Their responsibilities during this time are not specified.
