Director Of Market Strategy at Talos IoT

Michael Scelzi has over 30 years of experience in the energy and HVAC industries. Michael began their career in 1989 as an Electrical Field Engineer for General Electric Corporation, where they were responsible for troubleshooting and repairing digital and analog control systems, power generating systems, power plant controls and SCADA systems for ship mechanical and electrical systems. In 1992, they joined the United States Merchant Marine as a Third Assistant Engineer MEBA, responsible for propulsion plant, generating systems, and all utilities. In 1994, they became a Service Sales Engineer for UTC Carrier Corporation. In 1996, they founded Energen Technologies and ETI Construction, a commercial mechanical contractor, and served as Chief Executive Officer and President. Under their leadership, the business grew from $0 in 1998 to $18 million in 2008 and was sold to Johnson Controls with a sustained profit margin of 8 times its competitors. In 2004, they joined Net Metering Inc, where they were a Board Member. Michael pioneered real-time energy data acquisition which now provides the hardware and platform to feed Energy Control Company's (ECC) Energy Accounting System. In 2012, they became President of ECC, where they focused on reporting energy in real-time and providing automatic energy controls. In 2019, they joined Talos IoT as Director Of Market Strategy, and Wala SolarHVAC as a Board Of Directors. At Talos IoT, they are an industry leader in HVAC automation with proactive monitoring, and at Wala SolarHVAC, they combine the power of solar with new technologies in heating and cooling to dramatically cut HVAC costs and reduce carbon emissions.

Michael Scelzi obtained their High School degree from Hudson Falls High School in 1985. Michael then attended the State University of New York Maritime College from 1985 to 1989, where they earned a BEME in Marine Engineering. Michael also participated in the General Electric Field Engineering Development Program in 1989. In 1996, they attended William & Mary's Raymond A. Mason School of Business, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Marketing and Finance. Michael also holds certifications in Certified Energy Manager AEE, UNC's McKimmon School of Energy Management Diploma, VA Class A Mechanical Contractor License, and VA Master HVAC License.
