Tony Joblin

Tony Joblin has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering. Tony has held various roles in different companies throughout their career.

In 1998, Tony started their career as a Software Engineer at Jeppesen (via acquisition of Carmen Systems / Opcom), where they provided support for university room scheduling and exam timetabling systems. Tony also supported and developed journey planners using C++ and Java technology.

From 2000 to 2008, Tony worked as a Rail Crewing Software Engineer at Jeppesen Optimisation Solutions, a Boeing Company. During this time, they focused on supporting and developing rail crewing software.

In 2008, Tony moved to Jeppesen as an IPTIS Team Software Developer and continued working on journey planning software deployed in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. Tony utilized C++, C#, ASP.NET, and Silverlight technologies for their work.

In 2013, Tony joined SilverRail Technologies as a Software Developer and Scrum Master. Tony was responsible for the ongoing support and development of the Integrated Data Management System product. Tony performed requirements analysis, implemented client change requests, and designed the cloud architecture for the new IDMS environment.

From 2014 to 2015, Tony worked at SilverRail Australia as a Senior Software Engineer and Scrum Master. Tony mentored junior team members, coached the team in agile practices, and maintained and enhanced the Journey Planning software. Tony also contributed to the development of a new real-time information system.

In 2016, Tony took on the role of Support Team Lead at SilverRail Australia. Tony was responsible for coaching and mentoring junior team members, maintaining quality standards, and providing technical input to the product owner.

In 2017, Tony moved to Genie Solutions as a Senior Software Engineer. Tony built web-based medical practice management software for specialists using React, Nodejs, Ruby, Rails, Typescript, and AWS.

From 2017 to 2017, Tony worked as a Site Reliability Engineer at SilverRail Australia. Tony developed and led the team's automation plan, created a web site for testing and demonstrating a REST API, and implemented continuous build and deployment using Jenkins.

Finally, in 2022, Tony joined RangeMe as a Senior Software Engineer. Tony played a key role in React and Rails development for RangeMe's product discovery, sourcing, and purchasing platform. Tony worked on projects such as custom volume-based price lists, brand and product page accessibility, integration with Balance B2B eCommerce payments API, and buyer onboarding checklist workflow.

Recently, in 2023, Tony started working at Tanda as a Senior Software Engineer.

Tony Joblin completed a Bachelor of Science in Physics at The University of Queensland from 1989 to 1992. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Physics at The Queensland University of Technology, which they completed from 1992 to 1996.
