Dan Williams has over 30 years of experience in the engineering field. Dan began their career in 1990 as a Field Application Specialist for Integrated Solutions / Mizar, where they worked on UNIX and VxWorks VME based system configuration / qualification / administration. In 1991, they moved to Hitachi Microsystems as a Hardware Verification Engineer, where they developed C/Verilog co-simulation support for the SH2 Microprocessor and wrote a pre-assembler in C for the SH-DSP. In 1995, Dan joined Silicon Engineering, Inc. as a Hardware Engineer, where they created a highly automated verification environment that was later sold to 3Dfx Interactive, Inc. In 2000, Dan moved to Clearwater Networks as a Technical Lead, working on the verification of a 5M gate MIPS compatible network processor. In 2002, they joined Tau Networks as a Design Verification Engineer, where they wrote, tracked, and helped implement system level test plans for the company's switch-fabric chipset. In 2004, they moved to Sunext Design as a Verification Manager, where they coordinated activities of 23 engineers and wrote a test plan for an ASIC. In 2005, Dan joined Cisco Systems as a Technical Lead, Verification, working on the architecture and implementation of verification environment for new generation of switch ASICs used in Cisco’s 2K and 3K product lines. In 2016, Dan became a Self Employed Entrepenuer, working on a plan to open a brewery with a business partner in China. Dan learned Chinese (Mandarin), beer brewing, beer judging, and business development, and wrote an initial business plan. Dan currently works as an Engineer for Tanzanite Silicon Solutions, a position they have held since 2021.
Dan Williams completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Computer Engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1990. Dan previously attended Petaluma High. No additional certifications were listed.
