Matt Perry has a strong background in IT infrastructure and administration. Matt began their career as a Web Developer/UNIX System Administrator at IBM Internet Security Systems in 1997, where they built and maintained the company's online technical infrastructure. Matt then worked as a Software Developer for a self-employed role, providing consulting and maintenance for database-backed websites. In 2001, they joined Roche as a System Administrator/IT Project Manager, where they managed IT projects and administered Linux, Windows, VMware, and SAN infrastructure. Matt later worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a Unix Administrator, responsible for system administration and IT monitoring for a scientific research facility. In 2017, they returned to Roche as a Senior Linux Administrator, where they migrated the IT environment to a well-managed infrastructure and established ITIL processes. Currently, they are working as a DevOps Engineer at Taos.

Matt Perry obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Information Systems from the University of San Francisco, where they studied from 2007 to 2010. Matt has also earned several additional certifications, including the Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA), Red Hat Certified Specialist in Linux Diagnostics and Troubleshooting, Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Application Development, Terraform Enterprise Implementation Foundations, Terraform: Certified HashiCorp Implementation Partner (CHIP), Google Cloud Certified Cloud Digital Leader, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers and Kubernetes, Certified Jenkins Engineer, Google Cloud Certified Associate Cloud Engineer, HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), AWS Certified Security - Specialty, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect, and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE). The certifications were obtained at various times between 2000 and 2022.
