Ashley Jankowski is an experienced professional in environmental sustainability, community engagement, and journalism. Currently serving as an Assistant Planner at McKenna, Ashley also reports on local environmental, governmental, and community news for TAPinto.net. Previous roles include serving as a Research Associate at the University of Michigan's Detroit River Story Lab, where Ashley developed journalistic skills in interdisciplinary students, and as a Graduate Student Instructor co-teaching courses on environmental justice and politics. Ashley gained planning experience as an intern for the City of River Rouge, contributing to master planning and economic development initiatives. Additionally, Ashley's background includes positions as a Sustainability Fellow at Yale University, a Cities Engagement Fellow at CDP, and various writing and activist roles. Ashley holds a Master's in Environment and Sustainability and Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Michigan, as well as dual Bachelor's degrees in Environmental Studies and Journalism from New York University.
