Jon Shaw is an experienced sustainability manager currently working at Taronga Conservation Society Australia since July 2023. Prior to this role, Jon held various positions at the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment from April 2018 to July 2023, including managing environmental markets and the electricity roadmap, where expertise in carbon and biodiversity markets was demonstrated. Earlier experience includes managing the Emissions Reduction Fund auctions team at the Clean Energy Regulator, where a Ministerial award was received for auction design and implementation. Jon also contributed to energy efficiency policies at the Department of Energy and Climate Change, developed climate change responses for Townsville City Council, and worked as a systems analyst at APRA. Educational credentials include a Specialist Certificate in Economic Design from the University of Melbourne, a Master of Applied Science in Natural Resource Management from James Cook University, and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Oceanography and Chemistry from the University of Liverpool, supplemented by recent studies at the University of Cambridge.
