Harsha Pathirana has worked in the IT industry since 2011. In 2011, they began working at APIIT as a Technical Team Leader, where they handled the Technical Team, organized tech events for students, and ensured team members achieved team targets. Harsha also worked as a Technical Assistance, deploying clones, maintaining labs over 200 workstations, supporting and troubleshooting software and hardware, printer management, troubleshooting, network infrastructure and organizing educational and entertainment events. In 2014, they began working at IBM as a System Engineer, where they provided IBM Power System Support, Operating System and Software Support, Storage Support, Tape Library Backup Solution, Disaster Recovery Testing, Basic Database and Network Support, Tivoli Storage Manager Backup Support, IBM PowerHA Cluster Support, and had excellent customer communication. In 2017, they began working at Pearson as a Storage/Backup Engineer, where they provided remote support on levels 2 and 3 for corporate-wide infrastructure/storage/backup related issues and BAU tasks, managed 6000+ backup clients and storage operations, IBM Spectrum Protect, Tape Library, Data Domain Infrastructure, Veritas NetBackup/EMC Networker backup software, Storage Systems Support, Manage User Tickets using Service Now Tool, IBM TSM Operation Center Management and Administration, Predatar Monitoring and Analyzing, and coordinated vendors for part replacement. Harsha also worked at Christo Martinez as a System Engineer. In 2020, they began working at Minderoo Foundation as an Infrastructure Engineer and IT Minor Works Engineer, where they proactively reviewed ticket logs to determine drivers of ticket volumes and identified solutions that addressed the root cause, supported applications and infrastructure teams in deployment activities related to projects, assisted on Infrastructure project tasks, assisted on Application-level projects, documented Project planning, steps, and closure comments, and researched, evaluated, and procured new software/hardware as requested by customers. Harsha also worked at Tattarang as an Infrastructure Engineer and IT Minor Works Engineer, where they performed the same duties as at Minderoo Foundation. Harsha also worked at Santos Ltd as a Deployment Technician and at Metcash as a Field Service Analyst.

Harsha Pathirana has a diverse educational background. From 2011 to 2014, they attended the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology and obtained a BEng.Computer Science in Computer Science. In 2010 and 2011, they attended the Australian College of Business and Technology and obtained a Foundation degree in Science, Technology. In 2010 and 2011, they also attended Winsys Networks in Sri Lanka and obtained a Special Diploma in Network Administration in Network and System Administration/Administrator. In 2009 and 2010, they attended GreatLake Sri Lanka and obtained a Cisco Certified Network Associate Training Program in System, Networking, and LAN/WAN Management/Manager.
