Kathryn Chorlton

Dr. Kathryn Chorlton has responsibility for new projects, communications and the Trust’s pupil leadership specialism. Dr. Chorlton leads the delivery of Trust-wide corporate programs, change management and new business opportunities. She oversees and manages the establishment of new schools and academies. Her portfolio includes marketing and communications for the Star schools, as well as the communications strategy for Star Academies itself.

Dr. Chorlton was previously a Research Fellow within the Safety and Technology Group, Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds, a multi-disciplinary team undertaking research in road safety and driver behavior. With a decade of experience in the field, she worked on a variety of high profile research projects exploring the socio-cognitive determinants of driving behavior and the impact of intelligent transport systems. Her work involved collaboration with national and international policymakers, including the Department for Transport, Highways Agency, Transport for London, and the European Commission, as well as leading global industrial partners. Dr. Chorlton is also a Chartered Psychologist.
