Tom Annau

Tom Annau is a highly experienced professional who has worked in various companies, with their work life beginning in 1997 as a software consultant at Arithmos. Tom worked at Ripfire as the CEO and founder before joining Plumtree Software. At Plumtree Software, they served as a senior software engineering manager and integrated Ripfire's search technology into Plumtree's corporate portal software used by over 500 customers. Tom also worked as a software consultant at Silicon Optix, where they developed a multi-platform toolkit for programming the massively parallel video-processing component of the company's flagship product. Tom made a significant contribution as a senior software engineering manager at Google, managing over 30 direct reports across ten projects in core areas of online ads, web search, and systems infrastructure. At Blekko, they served as VP of Engineering, and led the transformation of the product from a small-scale demo to a state-of-the-art web search engine. Tom was also the founder and VP of Engineering at Jaunt VR, where they hired and managed a team of 16 engineers. Currently, they are the founder and CEO of Taut, which they founded in 2021.

Tom Annau completed their BS degree in Electrical Engineering and Biology (with distinction) at Stanford University from 1987 to 1991. Afterwards, they pursued a PhD in Computational Neuroscience at Caltech from 1991 to 1996.
