Douglas Mueller

Douglas Mueller has had a diverse and extensive work experience in the coatings industry. Douglas has held various roles throughout their career, including Vice President at TCI Powder Coatings since December 2017. Prior to that, they served as the North America Technical Director at Hempel A/S from February 2016 to December 2017.

One of their significant positions was at Valspar, where they started in 1996. Douglas worked their way up from Technical Manager I to Technical Director III, with full profit and loss responsibility for 150 employees in the Global General Industrial Group. Douglas was also involved in acquisition due diligence and technology integration for a European paint manufacturer.

Before joining Valspar, Douglas worked at Moline Paint Manufacturing as a Senior Project Leader from December 1990 to May 1996. In this role, they managed lab projects and developed new products and technologies for John Deere OEM agricultural locations.

Douglas Mueller completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Chemistry from Saint Ambrose University in the years 1985 to 1990. Later, from 1990 to 1993, Douglas attended the University of Iowa where they obtained their Master of Arts (MA) in Chemistry.
