Matthew van Bommel

Matthew van Bommel is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with extensive experience in sports analytics. Currently employed at Teamworks since September 2024, following an acquisition of Zelus Analytics where Matthew served as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer and previously as a Machine Learning Engineer from January 2021 to September 2024. Prior to that, Matthew held positions at the Sacramento Kings, including Senior Analyst and Analyst in Basketball Operations from October 2017 to November 2020, and worked as a Research Assistant at Simon Fraser University from September 2015 to August 2017. Additionally, Matthew gained experience as a Basketball Analytics Intern with the Philadelphia 76ers in early 2017. Matthew holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Statistics from Simon Fraser University (2015-2017) and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mathematics and Statistics from Acadia University (2011-2015).
