Nicolas Rous has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of computer graphics. Nicolas started their career at Segala Industrie as a Computer Aided Design Technician in 2005. Later, they worked at Mokko Studio, where they served as a Research Project Lead in 3D Computer Graphics from 2012 to 2014 and as a Research and Development Specialist in Computer Graphics from 2009 to 2012. At Mokko Studio, Nicolas developed tools, plugins, and shaders for artists, working with Autodesk Maya and Mental Ray rendering engine. Nicolas also collaborated on a research project on topology representation and parametrization of complex 3D meshes.
In 2014, Nicolas joined Altran as a C# Software Engineer and Team Leader, and later transitioned to the role of a 3D Computer Graphics Engineer, contributing from 2014 to 2015. During this time, they developed their skills in C++ programming and gained expertise in 3D graphics.
From 2016 to 2018, Nicolas worked as a Research and Development Engineer in Computer Graphics at FittingBox. Nicolas was responsible for the conception and development of a real-time rendering engine, integrating it into various products for Windows, iOS, and the web.
In 2018, Nicolas joined OKTAL Synthetic Environment as a Research and Development Engineer in Computer Graphics. Nicolas was involved in the development, testing, and validation of terrain modeling software. Nicolas also had experience simulating large environments with physically realistic shaders in both real-time and offline rendering, using C and C++ programming.
Currently, Nicolas is a Staff Software Engineer at Tech Soft 3D, starting from 2023.
Nicolas Rous began their education in 2003 at the Universite de Toulouse III (Paul Sabatier) where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics in 2005. Nicolas then attended the Institut national des Sciences appliquees de Rouen from 2005 to 2008, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Information system architecture. In 2007 and 2008, they enrolled in Polytechnique Montreal to study Logiciels et applications multimedia. From 2010 to 2013, Nicolas attended the Universite de Montreal, focusing on Computer Graphics (Animation).
