Perry Gonella has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Perry began their career as an Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company in 1990, where they provided custom software and hardware solutions to US Federal agencies. Perry then moved to Northrop Grumman Corporation, where they served as a Senior Engineer and continued to provide similar solutions. In 1996, Gonella joined C. G. Industries as a Principal, responsible for incorporation, account setup, and contract and reporting procedures and systems.
In 1998, they joined CTIS, Inc. as the Director of Operations, managing best practices and internal and external client websites while overseeing the development and maintenance of a data warehousing system. Perry later served as the Executive Director of Project Support Services, focusing on business development and establishing best practices. Gonella was then called upon to lead the transformation of the National Cancer Institute website. In their last role at CTIS, Inc., they served as the Executive Director of Management Consulting Practices, where they managed the largest client and transformed contract and software development services to be performance-based.
In 2009, they joined CTIS, Inc. again, this time as the Vice President of the Program Management Office, responsible for establishing and managing the office and leading practice development while serving as an Account Manager for a major client. Their most recent position was at Technical Resources International, Inc. as the Manager of IT Planning and Governance, where they developed an operational optimization strategy for IT and prepared for a new management strategy to manage change. Perry then transitioned to the role of Associate Director of Information Technology, providing IT and Information Security services to internal and external clients.
Perry Gonella has a strong educational background in both computer science and business management. Perry obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating in 1990. Perry then pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in General Management from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University, completing their studies in 1994. Perry further expanded their knowledge by earning a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University, which they achieved from 1998 to 2001.
In addition to their formal education, Perry has also obtained several certifications in the field of information technology and project management. Their certifications include IT Infrastructure Library from AXELOS Global Best Practice, obtained in August 2017; Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT) from APMG International, obtained in April 2016; Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute, obtained in September 2017; and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)², obtained in September 2017. These certifications demonstrate their dedication to staying current on industry best practices and their commitment to professional development.
