Bill Polson

Bill Polson is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in the visual effects and animation industry. Currently serving as Chief Technology Officer at Technicolor Creative Studios, Bill leads the production software research and development for various service lines including VFX, Animation, Advertising, and Games. Previously, Bill held the role of (Interim) CTO for R&D at MPC, where responsibilities included strategic direction for filmmaking technology and leading the Product Management team for the MPC/Technicolor Software R&D Group. Bill's career includes over two decades at Pixar Animation Studios, holding multiple leadership positions and contributing significantly to industry initiatives such as OpenSubdiv, as well as technical advancements in numerous award-winning films. Bill's foundational work in software development began at ManuFact, Inc. and Digital Arts/CGIL, where key innovations in animation and rendering technology were achieved. Bill holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics from Caltech.
