Roberto Barbera is a Professor at the University of Catania, Italy, since October 2005, and has been a Research Associate and System Responsible at INFN since April 1985, overseeing the ALICE Experiment's Catania Tier-2 Centre. As an Innovation Manager, Roberto Barbera has maintained a role with the Ministry of Economic Development since November 2019. Additional positions include Senior Reviewer for the European Science Foundation, High-Level Consultant for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) since June 2018, and Reviewer for the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. Roberto Barbera serves as a scientific and technical reviewer for Regione Siciliana and has held various board memberships, including with Consortium GARR and INFN-Grid Special Project. Academic qualifications include a PhD and M.Sc. in Physics from Università di Catania.
