Qualities I value in my colleagues
I love working with people who treat a project or client the way they treat their own business. This means that honesty and ownership are core to the success of my business. The work we do requires it. Creativity is also a standard because the work we do is clearly creative, but it also inherits a level of problem-solving along with it.
My communication style
I believe clearing communicating is key to healthy relationships in the workplace. Although I work with creative people, they respect feedback that is direct, but shared in positive way.
My pet peeves
Ownership is a core value in the workplace and so micromanaging or being micromanaged expresses a level of control and lack of trust that communicates I actually can't own this. I value clear communication and so working with employees or clients who poorly communicate creates opportunities for frustrations and unmet expectations. Although we run with clear leadership, our workplace is not a hierarchy, so politics is way for "title pride" to creep in which creates an unsafe space for creatives to create.
Fun fact
I'm the eighth cousin of Abraham Lincoln! Maybe it's why I'm so honest and positive.
Personal Q&A
How do you like to run meetings?
I come prepared with an agenda and communicate an end time so we can be a good steward of the time spent together.
