Aran Garnett-Deakin is an experienced educator and researcher with a background in family literacy and child development. Currently serving as a Pre-School/Kindergartner Teacher in the Family Literacy Program at Reading Connections, Aran creates educational content and teaches students from diverse linguistic backgrounds. In addition, Aran contributes to research at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, working on projects related to Black men's narratives in poverty and child development through various research assistant roles. Aran's experience includes volunteer work with local organizations and a focus on providing support and education to immigrant and refugee families. Aran holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
