Allegra Kirkland has over eight years of experience in the media industry. Allegra began their career in 2013 as the East Coast Editor for DailyServing.com. Allegra then moved to The Nation in 2013 as a Web Fellow, where they trained and supervised editorial interns and managed online content, photo research, and social media. In 2014, they were an Associate Managing Editor at AlterNet and a Freelance Fact-Checker for Lapham's Quarterly. From 2015 to 2019, they were a Senior Editor and then Politics Director at TPM Media LLC, where they assigned and edited stories, coordinated long-term planning and audience growth strategies, and covered extremist groups, voting rights, and the Trump administration. In 2019, they were promoted to Politics Director at Teen Vogue, where they oversee all aspects of coverage for the politics section, assigns and edits daily news coverage and features, and coordinates with partner organizations and political campaigns.
Allegra Kirkland graduated from Oberlin College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History and Art History. In April 2021, they obtained a certification in Fundamentals of Media Relations from Muck Rack.
