Chris Nicol is an experienced electrical engineer with a focus on developing collaborative solutions in educational technology. Since July 2010, Chris has been with SMART Technologies, evolving from a firmware engineer to an electrical engineer, and is currently engaged in the development of hardware for new Digital Vision Touch interactive whiteboards and related devices. Prior experience includes an electronics contractor role at the Science Alberta Foundation, which involved designing and repairing educational devices, and an electronics engineer position at Grindcom, where Chris contributed to control systems for forestry equipment. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from DeVry Institute of Technology. Additionally, Chris served as a teaching assistant at the University of Calgary, supporting electronic circuits courses.
